Friends of BAWAR
We wish to acknowledge the gracious support of local businesses, community leaders and celebrities that have supported our mission in raising Sexual Assault Awareness and Recovery.
Special thanks to Christina Maureen Keegan, Miss Nevada 2009, for attending and speaking at our Speak Out to End Sexual Assault Event April 2010.
During her year of service, Christina utilized her title of Miss Nevada to promote her personal platform entitled “Strength Over Silence: Rape Education and Recovery”.
Christina hopes to orchestrate a national discussion on what has long been considered a taboo and highly stigmatized subject. As a survivor of sexual assault, Christina has spent her year advocating for victims’ rights statewide. Christina is a long-time volunteer for RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network).
Also, special thanks to Station 33 Barbershop for providing the venue and The Palace Poker Casino in Hayward for providing dealers and tables for our 2010 BAWAR Poker Tournament Fundraiser.
